12. June 2014 Seminar on Future demands on competences and employees in logistics services.

Background:

Transport and logistics must be seen in connection with supply chains. Logistics as a subject is a methodological approach to integrate, optimize and develop improvement in the various supply chains. Cooperation seems to be an increasingly important element in finding these solutions today.

In this regard logistics competencies are a defining factor in dealing efficiently with supply chain aspects. Knowledge on how logistics works both internally and externally is decisive for choice of shipping methods and logistics solutions.

Unfortunately many companies are not able to define or determine which competences they will be needing in the future in this area and this in turn makes it very difficult for the educational institutions to anticipate future educational needs.

Specialized competences increase value for the company! Nobody can do everything which is why it is often an advantage to specialize knowledge and action in a well defined area if you want to obtain the best result possible.

This seminar aims at sharing knowledge about trends and expectations for future competencies and the speaker’s will primarily base their presentations on their own experiences from their working life.

The seminar will be held in English.

Venue and access

The BeltLogistics workshop will take place in the conference room (top floor) of the Scandlines ferry "Schleswig-Holstein" on its route between Puttgarden (Germany) and Rødby (Denmark).

13. marts 2014: Maritim Virksomehedsdag i Helsingør

29. Maj 2013 - Innovation and Entrepreneurship workshop for educators

The 29th of May 2013. 12-16 in Copenhagen

To follow up on the education conference held at SIMAC in December 2012 the Foundation for Entreprenurship - Young Enterprise and project The Danish Maritime Cluster collaborated to conduct an innovation-workshop for educators at maritime institutions.

The purpose of the workshop was to give educators that work with entreprenurship and innovation an opportunity to create greater awareness about the methods and processes they use in their classrooms. Simultaneously the participants had an opportunity to familiarize themselves with new methods from an external innovation-consultant and to be inspired by the other partcipants.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with innovation-consultant Morten Dall from the company Jensen På Hovedet. He took the participants through an interactive workshop where the partipcants actively tested the new innovation-methods.

22. November 2012 - Workshop on Education, Competences, and the Workforce in The Blue Denmark

Back-to-back Workshops on the topics of Education, Competences, and the Workforce in The Blue Denmark.

The Blue Denmark is facing large challenges in the future, as continuing globalization puts pressure on the competetiveness of the Danish maritime sector. The goal of the workshop was to produce recommendations for both vocational and higher educational programs, to ensure the continued development of comptences in the Danish maritime cluster.

The workshop was split into two parts:

9.00 - 13.00 Vocational education

The purpose was to discuss which competences that will be demanded in the future from from graduates of vocational programs. Additionally, the groups discussed the needs for innovation, as well as environmental and technological developments which will influence these needs.

The goal was to provide recommendations on which adjustments the maritime vocational programs should make, so the competences they provide continue to match the needs of the sector.

Presentations:

Lars Peter Breusch, Man Diesel Turbo

Ida Maiken Schaar, Oxford Research

Jakob Stoumann, Oxford Research

13.00-16.15 Higher education

The purpose was to identify and discuss which competences will be needed in the Blue Denmark in the future. As part of this dicussion the groups looked at which factors that will affect the competetiveness of the Danish maritime cluster when the goal is strenghtening the Danish maritime competences.

The goal was to provide recommendations on which courses, programmes and in-service training programs that should be developed at institutions for higher education to create the required competences.

Presentations:

Lene Rasmussen, Danmarks Maritime Klynge

Britta Gammelgaard, Copenhagen Business School

Jakob Stoumann, Oxford Research

Irene Rosberg, Copenhagen Business School

Klaus Rostell, Danske Maritime

Pernille Trojahn Kristiansen, Ministeriet for Forskning, Innovation og Videregående Uddannelser
